Why people look for TurboScribe alternatives
TurboScribe is a good deal for heavy users. Unlimited costs $20 a month, or $120 a year, takes files up to 10 hours and 5 GB, and states no cap on overall usage. It only slows down above roughly 24 hours of audio a day, when the account moves to High Volume Mode. Most people searching for alternatives have a smaller or different need.
The pricing page shows only a free plan and Unlimited, so light users have no step in between. The $10 monthly rate needs $120 paid up front, and its terms say all purchases are non-refundable. Free files are capped at 30 minutes, uploaded one at a time and processed at lower priority. TurboScribe has no API, and its site does not mention a meeting bot, live transcription, mobile apps or human transcription.
Others want something TurboScribe does not list: files that never leave their own computer, a bot that joins video calls, or a person who checks the transcript before it is delivered.
How to choose by the job you have
Match the tool to how much you transcribe and what else you need. Add up your hours for a typical month first, because that decides most of the price difference between these tools.
- Large monthly volumes of files: TurboScribe Unlimited is hard to beat. RocketScribe Unlimited has the same price, but with a 12,000-minute fair-use cap.
- Up to about 20 hours a month: RocketScribe Plus at $10 a month or $72 a year. For occasional use, the $10 Minute Pack covers 600 minutes with no subscription.
- Meetings: Otter.ai and Transkriptor join calls with a bot and have mobile apps.
- Human-checked transcripts: Rev from $1.99 a minute for English, or Happy Scribe from $2.00 a minute in more languages.
- Offline or privacy-first: MacWhisper runs on your Mac and costs about €65 once for Pro.
How we checked
We read each vendor's own pricing and help pages in October 2026 and recorded monthly and annual prices from both settings of the billing toggle. Where a vendor did not state a limit, the table says "Not stated". Where two of a vendor's own pages disagreed, we left that point out. Prices change often, so check the vendor's pricing page before you buy.
